Initial Setup - Insider

Overview |
The following three steps must be taken by an insider before any transaction can be reported on SEDI:
1. SEDI User Registration - Obtain User ID and Password 2. Create Insider Profile - Obtain Insider Access Key 3. File an Opening Balance Report |

SEDI User Registration |
The SEDI user ID and password created during the registration process allows access to the SEDI system. |

Create Insider Profile |
Each insider is required to have an insider profile filed on SEDI if they have securities transactions or holdings to report. An insider access key is created at the end of the "Create Insider Profile" session. Note: An insider must have only one insider profile. |

Link Existing Insider Profile to an Insider User Account

The following six steps must be taken in order to link an existing insider profile to a newly created insider user account:
1. Login to SEDI with the insider user ID and password 2. Select Link your SEDI Account to your Insider Profile button located at the bottom of the Insider home page screen 3. Search for the Insider Profile by the following options: a. Option 1: Insider number b. Option 2: Insider name then select the Search button 4. View search results screen will be displayed Click the radio button beside the insider that you want to link, click Next 5. Link your SEDI user ID to your insider profile - Enter insider access key screen will be displayed. Enter the correct insider access key. 6. Insider activities screen will be displayed. |

Opening Balance Report |
An opening balance report is required to be set up for each security and each ownership type. |
