Insider Report for Deferred Share Units (DSU) or Restricted Share Awards (RSA)

How to File an Insider Report for DSUs or RSAs

Step 1 - Grant of RSA or DSU:

Report the number of DSUs or RSAs awarded and report the equivalent amount of underlying common shares. Use nature code 56 - Grant of rights.

Step 2 - Vesting and distribution of underlying common shares or cash:

When the DSUs or RSAs vest and are settled in underlying common shares, report an acquisition of the relevant number of underlying common shares as one transaction using nature code 57 – Exercise of rights and the common shares security designation. You will also need to file a separate report  regarding the disposition of the corresponding number of the DSUs or RSAs, using the same code (57) and the DSU or RSA security designation.

When the DSUs or RSAs vest and are settled by a cash payment, report a disposition using code 59 – Exercise for cash and the RSA or DSU security designation
